- The next Mid-Missouri monthly meeting is coming up on May 23. Following an 11:30am business meeting Firestone Roofing will be making a presentation on FM standards.
- On May 12-14, 2008 the National ADA Symposium and Expo will be held in St. Louis. More information can be found at adasymposium.org.
- Boone County Lumber is sponsoring a number of training sessions offering AIA CEUs. More information is available on their website: www.boonecountylumber.com/events.asp.
- Please send your questions or topic comments to Bob Unrath for the "Everything You Wanted to Know About Design Build But Were Afraid to Ask - Part Two". Our joint training program with CSI in June. We want this to be as relevant to your practice as possible, and for that we need your input. Send your items to: unrathr@missouri.edu.
- The Building Enclosure Council (BEC) of St. Louis, a new chapter of a national network of Building Enclosure Councils, is hosting a series of programs this year beginning on March 11th. AIA Mid-Missouri is pleased to announce Suzanne Petersen of Rolla, Missouri as the 2006 Roy J. Pallardy Scholarship recipient. The award includes $1,000 from the Mid-Missouri Component and an additional matching grant of $2,000 from the National Component for a total scholarship amount of $3,000. Suzanne is currently a senior at the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning and will graduate in May 2007. The Tom Atkins Family was presented with the Distinguished Citizen Commendation for 2006. This semi-annual recognition is presented to a member or members of the community in recognition of outstanding leadership in improving the built environment of our Mid-Missouri Community. The Atkins family has been involved in several projects to restore the historic fabric of the community including the restoration of the City Centre on Ninth and Cherry in Downtown Columbia. Tom and Linda Atkins attended the event and accepted the commendation on behalf of the entire family. |
