The next Mid-Missouri monthly meeting is coming up on May 23. Following an 11:30am business meeting Firestone Roofing will be making a presentation on FM standards.

The Building Enclosure Council (BEC) of St. Louis, a new chapter of a national network of Building Enclosure Councils, is hosting a series of programs this year beginning on March 11th. 	AIA Mid-Missouri is pleased to announce Suzanne Petersen of Rolla, Missouri as the 2006 Roy J. Pallardy Scholarship recipient. The award includes $1,000 from the Mid-Missouri Component and an additional matching grant of $2,000 from the National Component for a total scholarship amount of $3,000. Suzanne is currently a senior at the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning and will graduate in May 2007. 	The Tom Atkins Family was presented with the Distinguished Citizen Commendation for 2006. This semi-annual recognition is presented to a member or members of the community in recognition of outstanding leadership in improving the built environment of our Mid-Missouri Community. The Atkins family has been involved in several projects to restore the historic fabric of the community including the restoration of the City Centre on Ninth and Cherry in Downtown Columbia. Tom and Linda Atkins attended the event and accepted the commendation on behalf of the entire family.
